CIDOC CRM Compatible Ontologies form specialized ontologies of different sorts that are maintained by third parties which follow the compatibility rules for CRM but which have specific project or discipline focus. They do not have the aim to be harmonized extensions but to match to the CRM at a moment and for a specific reason.
A CIDOC CRM Compatible Ontology will be listed on the CRM SIG website after it has passed a basic certification procedure for ensuring that it meets the technical requirements for being so listed.
