In the 55th joint meeting of the CIDOC CRM and SO/TC46/SC4/WG9; 48th FRBR/LRMoo SIG meeting, upon discussing issue 599 (the editorial statuses of CRM extensions in particular), it was observed that the qualitative "Approved by IFLA" that characterizes the version 2.4 of FRBRoo was unsatisfactory. IFLA acts on delegation by ISO, so a version that has been approved by IFLA is as official as it gets and should be dubbed "Official" instead.
However, given that IFLA does not submit documents to ISO, the current definitions for Official used for CIDOC CRM cannot be applied to FRBRoo.
HW: MR to provide a definition for Official (for FRBR/LRMoo)
Belval, December 2022
In the 57th joint meeting of the CIDOC CRM and ISO/TC46/SC4/WG9 &50th FRBR/LRMoo SIG, upon discussing Issue 360 the SIG adopted the definition proposed for Official status (for IFLA standards) proposed by the LRMoo WG and then closed the issue.
The proposed status is defined as follows:
Official (IFLA)
A revised and complete community version of the compatible model fully approved by IFLA. It forms a stable release of the standard and can be used for implementation, reference and any other official purpose. The document is final and will undergo no further change. This release is accompanied by an RDFS and other serializations.
This status concerns FRBRoo V2.4, PRESSoo V1.3. It will also be applied to LRMoo V1.0 (following its release and endorsement by IFLA).
