In the 60th joint meeting of the CIDOC CRM and ISO/TC46/SC4/WG9 & 53rd FRBR/LRMoo SIG, the group resolved to start a new issue in order to determine what counts as a newsworthy item.
HW: GB to come up with a proposal to automatically update the “What’s New?” section based on SIG members' X and LinkedIn posts.

Dear all,
In response to this HW issue, we have started a working document for this here:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1mHzvCTsm2OfcUgw00ms_WNpsLc2eOoWGjCnvYqbR4i0/edit?tab=t.0
There are two issues: what is newsworthy (people really care about) but also how do we not make this an impossible task and one which will have an impact. THe problem there is that there are probably very little people who visit cidoc-crm.org for news everyday. We would need to be posting this on linkedin or x or something. But then we would have to post in two places and this would make the work even harder. I did some very light lookin around and there is a module for drupal which could push to linkedin but I'm not sure it is properly maintained such that we would want to rely on it.
Pavlos also reviewed the above and contributes the following thoughts: "I think that if we focus on the most important "news" and then have a few items per month (~2-8), posting them on social media and including them in the news section of the webpage is not too much work. We just need to assign this role to someone with access to both the website and the social media (Eleni??? :))
Most importantly, we need a clear strategy regarding the management of social media (focus on giving important updates without much overhead). First step: decide on the platforms (I would go for LinkedIn and maybe X)."
So at this point we are sharing this with the list for those who are interested in the topic. Please share your thoughts on this thread, on the attached document or bring them to the next SIG.
Best,
George
