In the 47th joint meeting of the CIDOC CRM SIG and ISO/TC46/SC4/WG9; 40th FRBR - CIDOC CRM Harmonization meeting; Upon discussing MD’s proposal to edit the scope notes for P81 and P82 (adding text to capture the integration of different sources documenting non-contradictory minimal AND maximal extents- issue 458), the SIG appointed him to  produce examples for the integration of (i) non-contradictory minimal extents and (ii) non-contradictory maximal extents to illustrate P81 & P82, respectively.

Dear All,

What about that:

The Battle in the Teutoburg Forest P82 at some time within September 9CE

Seems there is no better knowledge available...

The time-Span of the death of Tut Ankh Amun P82 at some time within December 1324 BC to February 1323 BC

Posted by Martin on 7/10/2020

The Time-Span of the Thirty Years War P81 ongoing throughout  Mai 23, 1618AD until October 24, 1648AD

Now, here a better one for P81 / P82, following Wikipedia :

The time-span of the First Intermediate Period of Ancient Egypt (7th to 10th dynasty) (E52) P82 at some time within 2475BC - 2125BC (E61)

The time-span of the First Intermediate Period of Ancient Egypt (7th to 10th dynasty) (E52) P81 ongoing throughout 2181BC - 2160BC (E61)

[This is the minimal common agreement of two conflicting dates: James Henry Breasted dates the First Intermediate Period of Ancient Egypt (7th to 10th dynasty) from 2475BC to 2160BC in his Ancient Records (first published in 1906), volume 1, sections 58–75; Ian Shaw dates it from 2181BC to 2125BC in his Oxford History of Ancient Egypt (published in 2000), pp. 479–483]

But again not the case we are looking for: Integrating non-conflicting dates

Our archaeologists should have historical examples when dates where refined, for P82, and different measurements providing time points for P81

In the 48th CIDOC CRM and 41st FRBR CRM sig meeting (virtual), the sig reviewed the examples for the integration of (i) non-contradictory minimal extents and (ii) non-contradictory maximal extents to illustrate P81 & P82, respectively. The accepted examples can be found here.
