In the 56th joint meeting of the CIDOC CRM and ISO/TC46/SC4/WG9 &49th FRBR/LRMoo SIG, the SIG resolved to start a new issue where to discuss the scope notes of typed properties.
Motivation for the issue:
Typed properties are as a rule poorly defined. They must be redrafted considering the guideline for writing scope notes (see here). The problem is particularly pressing for properties
- P62.1 mode of depiction,
- P67.1 has type,
- P138.1 mode of representation, and
- P189.1 has type.
Nb. that doesn’t mean that the other typed properties are properly defined.

In the 57th CIDOC CRM & 50th FRBR/LRMoo SIG Meeting, the SIG appointed MD to properly define the .1 properties. The following properties take precedence over the others P62.1, P67.1, P138.1, and P189.1.

Most of them are vaguely defined and the definitions are partly a part of the scope note of the main properties.

In the 61st joint meeting of the CIDOC CRM and ISO/TC46/SC4/WG9 & 54th FRBR/LRMoo SIG, CEO started by proposing some examples for the properties P67.1, p138.1, and P189.1, as a way to inductively arrive at defining their meaning.
The details of the proposal can be found in the attached document.
Overall, the SIG decided on how to move foward the issue, along these lines:
- Ask the SIG for examples demonstrating the use of .1 properties. Definitely for P62.1, P67.1, P138.1 and P189.1, but also for all the other .1 properties in the model
- P3.1 has type
- P14.1 in the role of
- P16.1 mode of use
- P19.1 mode of use
- P69.1 has type
- P102.1 has type
- P107.1 kind of member
- P130.1 kind of similarity
- P136.1 in the taxonomic role
- P137.1 in the taxonomic role

- P144.1 kind of member
The following HW was assigned:
ETs will send requests to the SIG list –create a spreadsheet listing .1 property, E55 Type assigned (characterization: ad hoc, or vocabulary concept), triple, verbal description of the example, relevant project for context.
GH: will share the archaeological use cases he mentioned
DO: will share examples for the .1 properties too.
