In the 45th joint meeting of the CIDOC CRM SIG and SO/TC46/SC4/WG9; 38th FRBR – CIDOC CRM Harmonization meeting, the reading out the text once more, in the frame of 410 issue, and voting on the spot was considered counterproductive and time consuming. The members of the sig mentioned they preferred to be sent the document and then comment and initiate an e-vote on its content. E-vote message was sent to the crm-sig members about compatibility. The e-vote was due to Oct. 25th. The sig reviewed the e-vote results about compatibility statement. The e-vote and the answers can be found n the in the crm-sig list and here
The sig decided that the compatibility statement needs more work., HW assigned to MD.
Heraklion, October 2019
In the virtual meeting of editorial group of CIDOC-CRM version 7.0 on 11/5/2020, the Editorial Group of CRMbase v.7.0 proposed to close it for lack of feedback and/or interest. The version of the text to appear in 7.0 is the one that the ISO have already agreed on.
The issue will be left open for now, but will not be revisited in the context of version 7.0. It should be discussed again in the future.

Dear all,
Please find a document with the HW for the issues 456 and 459. These issues are about changes in the text of the introduction to the CRM. The document will be used in the virtual SIG meeting
In the 47th joint meeting of the CIDOC CRM SIG and ISO/TC46/SC4/WG9; 40th FRBR - CIDOC CRM Harmonization meeting; CEO brought the SIG to date with the proposal by the SIG editorial team about compatibility statement, to close the issue for lack of feedback and/or interest by the SIG members. Given the time-frame for submitting the text to ISO is limited, and seeing as the text as it appears now was approved by ISO for the last release of the standard, the editorial team prefer to keep the text as is. The sig accepted the proposal and decided this section: “Compatibility with the CRM” to remain as is, at least until the ISO release.
June 24th, 2020
The issue has been postponed for quite a long time now that it is no longer relevant. The CRM editors decided to close it seeing as no one has expressed an interest in prducing a new compatibility statement, the one currently found in CIDOC CRM v7.1.1 was accepted by ISO, and , finally, v7.1.1 is now closed.
SIG members interested in pursuing this further, should (a) start a new issue and (b) provide a text as a basis for discussion.
