ID:
622
Starting Date:
2022-11-07
Working Group:
3
Status:
Done
Closing Date:
2023-10-12
Background:

Gerald Hiebel has been working on redrafting the introduction to CRMarchaeo. This issue is for discussing proposed changes.

In the 55th joint meeting of the CIDOC CRM and SO/TC46/SC4/WG9; 48th FRBR/LRMoo SIG meetingGH & CEO informed the SIG that the introduction to CRMarchaeo has been extensively redrafted; they have incorporated all the decisions of the relevant set of issues in it. What still needs to be done is edit some graphics (see A7 Embedding). Once that has happened, the new version of the CRMarchaeo intro will be put to an evote.

HW: CEO to take care of the evote.

Current Proposal:

In the 56th CIDOC CRM & 49th meeting of FRBR/LRMoo SIG meeting, the SIG reviewed HW by CEO, GH, AF & MK (changes in the introduction section of the CRMarchaeo),

It was decided that the new text would be incorporated in the latest release of CRMarchaeo (Link to document here).

For the details of the discussion & an overview of the decisions, see here

HW: Figure 11 of the introduction needs updating

  • Anais to add a comment or note on the caption to illustrate the existence of underlying assumptions in an instance of A6 Group Declaration Event
  • CRMarchaeo editors to shorten the caption and move its content to the main text.

Crete, May 2023

Outcome:

In the 57th CIDOC CRM & 50th FRBR/LRMoo SIG Meeting, the SIG reviewed the updated version of CRMarchaeo.   CEO gave a summary of the change log  of CRMachaeo from the 56th SIG and proposed that the new release be given the status "Stable". The document can be found here

Points of discussion:

  • The Allen operators are rendered through multiple material implication of temporal primitives, not wquivalences. Discuss in a separate issue whether they can / should be rendered through equivalences/
  • Further improvements and enrichments of the CRMarchaeo document do not prohibit CRMarchaeo V2.0 from being assigned the status “Stable”
